In this article, we will guide you how to achieve the same result by combining Shopify general tax settings, Tax Display in Shopify Markets, BSS Tax Display and Registration Form process, in case you exclude tax from your prices.

• For B2C customers, they can see prices included tax on your store-front and tax will be added at Checkout
• For B2B customers, they can see prices excluded tax on your store-front and tax won't be added at Checkout

1. Taxes and duties

First thing first. You need to setup general tax settings in Shopify to collect tax for B2C customers. When tax value is available on the site, we will then have tax value to deduct for B2B customers.

• Setup to collect tax for European Union

• And keep the option Include sales tax in product price and shipping rate unticked in order to exclude tax from your prices as default.

2. Taxes and duties within Shopify Markets

• From Markets section, if you are having a separate market setup for EU, please click there
• From the Taxes and duties section, please make sure you choose Tax display as Show as line item in order to show tax on a separate line at Checkout.

3. Tax Display feature in BSS: B2B & Wholesale Solution app

• From the App > Tax and currency > Tax Display > Configuration, you will need to create a rule to show prices included tax for B2C customers. [](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/c/4/a/6/c4a62a42ab467800/image_zm338z.png)
• Then you create another rule for B2B/Wholesale customers to only display prices excluded tax and set priority = 0 to be more prioritized.

4. Registration Forms feature in BSS: B2B & Wholesale Solution app

• In this feature, we have a config to Auto exempt tax for customers registered with this form
• After approved, they will be marked as Don't collect tax in Shopify

=> As a result, the separate tax line you can see here (for example)

will be removed from Checkout

Note

• Please make sure that in both Shopify general tax settings, you choose to exclude tax from prices and set Tax Display as Show as line item in Markets tax settings.
